Hi, my name is Linda. I am a mother, grandmother, and counsellor with a lifetime of professional experience working with 0 to 18 year olds. I started out as a nursery nurse in education and health settings, including spending 7 years as a children's practicioner with the NSPCC. I have also been a school governor, supervisor of a children's play group, and manager of a social club for children on the autistic spectrum.
In 2012, I qualifed as a professional counsellor and then spent 11 years working as a counsellor in schools before choosing to become self-employed in 2023. I have a person-centred approach that draws on my wealth of experience and expertise using a wide variety of counselling styles.
I provide specialised counselling services for 5 to 18 year olds, using my experience, expertise and professionalism to empower your child by helping them build resilience and coping strategies that work for them.
My personal approach takes into account their needs, personality, and preferences, helping them to feel safe and comfortable. My sessions are tailored to help your child best engage and express themselves through verbal or non-verbal activities including playing, creating, or just talking. I work with both neurotypical and neurodiverse young people.
I aim to leave you with a happier, more confident young person who has had a positive experience of counselling.

including what I am trained to help with.
"[My child] looks better in general, but I can see that now she is able to cope with comments of a negative nature... I believe the way you deal with her helps her to become more confident."
"[My child] has been able to express her feelings really well, making it easier to help her. [She] has stopped hurting herself since she has been seeing you. Having space for her to talk about what she is finding hard and learning from someone other than her parents about emotions [helped]."

I'm based in Coventry and run sessions in a comfortable, familiar, and confidential environment for the young person such as their school. Alternatively, I can hire a therapy room in a centre where they will have disability access and a comfortable waiting area with ammenities.
If you'd like to discuss the suitability of counselling and the way I would work with your child/young person, I offer a free scheduled 20 minute phone call.
